Pride Re-Sign Veteran Forward Parker
In continuing with their theme of the offseason, the Boston Pride re-signed a key cog from their dominant 2019-20 season, agreeing to terms on an extension with forward Mary Parker on Thursday.
The Milton, Massachusetts native had a breakout year for the pride, tallying an impressive 15 goals in 17 games to go along with 24 total points, all career highs. Parker was named NWHL Player of the Month in November, with 6 goals and an assist in a 3 game stretch, including her first career hat trick in a November 23rd victory over the Connecticut Whale."Mary is a staple in our offensive unit and seems to only get better each season," said Boston Pride President Hayley Moore via the official press release. "Her two-way play, hockey sense, and knack for the net make her so much fun to watch. Her character and commitment to our fans and the community will be a great example for our rookies. We can't wait to see what Mary brings to the Pride in season 6!"
Prior to joining the Pride at the conclusion of her senior season, Parker spent parts of four years at Harvard before transferring to Boston University to finish her collegiate career. Parker then led the Terriers with a Hockey East-best 24 goals and 45 points in 36 games.
Parker led the Pride this season with an absurd 90.48% Even Strength Goals Percentage, as she was only on the ice for a ludicrous 2 goals against at Even Strength. She was also 53.8% in the faceoff dot, and had a +1 penalty differential."I’m incredibly excited to have signed with the Boston Pride for another season in the NWHL," said Parker, 26. This will be Parker's 4th full season in the NWHL, 5th including her single game audition following her collegiate career.
